Samaritan Center

This week we heard from Samaritan Center Executive Director Annika Sumby (Simi Sunrise's own), along with Chad Pettit (Samaritan Center Board of Directors). They spoke about the Samaritan Center's mission to help Simi Valley residents overcome hunger and homelessness. The Samaritan Center is Simi Valley's only drop-in center and provides hot meals daily, food pantry, showers and laundry. They help residents get back on their feet with individual case management to work through housing, employment, and referrals for mental health assistance. Annika and Chad also gave an update on the next steps for transitional housing for clients, which is currently not available in Simi Valley.
