Stephanie brought the meeting to order. Due to the shortened agenda, she turned the meeting over to President Kathryn without any opening remarks.

President Kathryn Scroggin
President Kathryn kept her opening remarks brief as well but reminded us about District Governor Dana Moldovan's request last week for help in support of the Ukrainian crisis.
Kathryn then mentioned that this past Tuesday was International Women's Day and in honor of the day tulips were handed out to fleeing Ukrainian women crossing the border into Romania. It was a symbol of not only Spring this year but of Hope as well. Kathryn said that our Club will be looking at other ways of helping out in the Ukraine crisis. Kathryn ended by saying that our Club is all about raising funds for causes we support and the upcoming Happy Face Music Festival is a great opportunity to raise those funds. She looks forward to more conversations about which causes we want to support.
Kathryn's quote this morning is from Anne Frank. "No one has ever become poor from giving".
And don't forget to WEAR GREEN at next week's meeting.

Vince Dulcich lead this morning's Invocation. Vince quoted portions of a prayer from Pope Francis called the Prayer for Peace. Very timely.
Tim Gray lead the Flag Salute.
Stephanie Shannon, pulling double duty this morning, welcomed our guests. Luckily there were no Guests so her work load was light.
Zoom was our Greeter this morning.

Thomas Herdering has reached out for help from our Club through Bill Klepper. Thomas has disabled neighbors that need their yard cleared in order for some tree trimmers to get some work done in the yard. Thomas is a great supporter of our Club so please help if you can this Saturday, March 12th. It will only take a couple of hours. Look for an email from Bill and meet at, where else, Jerry's at 7:00 AM. If you can't make Jerry's, meet at the house at 1417 Church Street.

Lots of work was done this past Saturday - thanks for coordinating that Vince - but more work remains. The trailer still has more material that needs to get cleared out and the Corriganville storage container still needs to be re-organized. And a decision still needs to be made about the status of the trailer itself and where to store material that can't fit at Corriganville. As Kathryn said though, challenges bring opportunities. This is a good time to take an accounting of just what we have and what we actually need.

Left to right: John St. Laurent (he works for Kathryn), Laura Berger above Kathryn Scroggin, Leigh Seaton (isn't he on leave????), Chas Wilson and Vince Dulcich
Not pictured: Tim Gray, Bob Whalen and Steve P who is storing 30 boxes of material at Monte Vista. Steve, you'll never be able to retire!
Bill Klepper is organizing our next Bolio event. Mark your calendars for April 10th at Harley's Valley Bowl. Bill said that teams are being formed and that the participation of the Special Olympic athletes is up in the air at this point due to covid.
A very good cause and a great opportunity to show your stuff. And, if you don't have stuff to show, the worst score will be rewarded.
Tim Gray and Larry Borovay continue working on all of the many details related to getting this Festival going. The website is now online; the sponsors brochure is ready for distribution; the headliner is now lined up and will be announced next week. And because that headliner is on board, Larry was able to get Hardcastle to open up for the headliner. So be prepared to distribute the flyers and banners from Tim and Larry and be ready to start SELLING TICKETS!
Previously, Tim had said he's looking for games (i.e., Cornhole, Horseshoes, etc.) that can be used at the Festival. See Tim if you can help.
To recap, The Happy Face Music Festival will be held on Saturday, May 28th which is Memorial Day weekend. It will be a half day event at the Rancho Simi Park with no more than 2000 tickets being sold at $50 per ticket. It will follow a minimal concept with Food, Alcohol (both beer and wine), and Entertainment provided with only those 21 and over being admitted.

Carolyn Boucher is looking for photos of favorite past Club projects that can be displayed at the Street Fair booth. Please follow up with Carolyn.
Again, the Simi Street Fair is on Saturday, April 30th. The plan is to have a booth highlighting Team Ginny as well as the various events and activities that our Rotary Club is involved with. She's looking for help and ideas. Come work the booth with your best Rotary Elevator Speech!
Carolyn also thanked Bruce Bromberg for including the Team Ginny flyer in his coupon book, Coupon Adventures, at no cost. Very nice Bruce.
