We had the pleasure of thanking Enterprise Holdings for their $2500 donation this year. On hand to share information about Enterprise, who has 1.9 million vehicles and more than 100,000 employees, was Shereen Gawad, Area Rental Manager. She talked about their various community programs and their support of non-profits.
Rotarians United for Peace
President Doug Feco's year is all about peace building. He shared peace building projects being done in Columbia, Bangladesh, and through our Rotary Peace Fellows. He said peace starts from the top -- and our 1.2 million members can help move mountains towards more peace on earth.
Rat Fink
Greg Gonzales was "Carjack the Magnificent" this morning as our Rat Fink. He shared his psychically "divine" ability of being able to know answers to unseen questions.
Chas Wilson ask for any 'gently used' children's books (ages 5-12) that you can part with to please bring them to next week's meeting and he will happily take them on his trip to Colombia. English language is fine. Books with colorful pictures (animals and nature) have been specially requested by our contacts in Colombia. District 5240 Rotarian Magazine
Cindy Jacoby talked about the new Rotary Magazine from our District 5240 and the need to pay $500. This cost can be covered by ad space and she asked for those that would be interested in purchasing ads. So many of our members signed up. Thanks!

Ventura County Grand Jury
Victor Kamhl and Mira Chalfant
We had the unique opportunity to learn about how a grand jury is seated, how it works and how it acts as a watchdog for the citizens in our county. The grand jury is a civil investigatory panel of 19 citizens created to serve as a voice of the people and a conscience of the community. Jurors are not appointed by politicians; they are volunteers who act as independent eyes and ears of Ventura County residents.
