Highlights from Doug
Doug Feco talked about how the Rotary.org site has been nominated for a Webby - an award that highlights excellence in websites. He also talked about RYLA, which is this weekend and about the District 5240 Foundation Fiesta planned for Friday, May 4th. See flyer below for more information.
Shine a Light on You Award
Peter Cicciari received the award this morning for organizing and planning the speakers this year!
Rat Fink
Leigh Seaton was our Rat Fink this morning and highlighted the history of smoke detectors and alarms with the final message to us al of "change your batteries".
Doug Feco reminded us to sign up for the Group 5 joint meeting on Wednesday, April 25at Wood Ranch Country Club at 6:00 p.m. This will be in place of our regular Thursday morning meeting that week.
Fire Alarms at Friendly Village
Leigh Seaton reminded everyone that we will be installing Fire Alarms Friendly Village Mobile Home Park on Saturday, April 21 - 9 am - Noon. Sign up sheets are on the tables now and the flyer is below with more information.
Cajun All Hands On Meeting - April 25
Larry Borovay said there will be a all hands on Cajun meeting Thursday, April 26 at Monte Vista at 6:00 p.m.
Family of Rotary Event - May 3
Stella Ortiz shared information about our last Family of Rotary event planned for Thursday, May 3 at the Junkyard. It'll be a night of drinks and appetizers and a Cajun Kick-off event too! Sign up sheets are on the tables now!
Cajun Security Meeting Planned for May 4th
Jim Tokatlian announced the next Cajun Security meeting will be on Friday, May 4 at 6:00 p.m. at the SVPD's EOC room. .
A Few More Volunteers Need to Feed the Homeless
Bill Fox and John Tolson said they a need a few more volunteers to assist with feeding the homeless on the second Thursday of every month. Please reach out to either of them and let them know if you are the one!

Dick Jennings
We had the pleasure of hearing from Commandant Dick Jennings of The President Ronald Reagan Detachment 597 this morning. He talked about a bit of the history of the Marine Corps as well as the traditions. He highlighted their two main events they have each year: the Marine Ball and their Golf Tournament.
